| Oranfrizer: first shipping of red oranges to Japan |
Rome - After a year of preparation, the first shipment of red oranges from Sicily is ready to leave. The Sicilian firm Oranfrizer (related FP article) will export more than 800 MT red Tarocco " PGI oranges " to Japan in 2007. The ship will leave on February 8 and its arrival is scheduled at the beginning of March. During the journey oranges will be stored at a very low temperature - between 0 and 1,2 Celsius - in order to prevent flies from developing. The Japanese distributor Tokyo Seika, Oranfrizer commercial partner, will sell the product.
