Oranfrizer juice is the first company in Italy certified for Packaging the blood orange of Sicily IGP, the Protected Geographic Indication reserved for fresh fruit only. The Protected Geographic Indication (IGP) is recognized for the “Blood Orange of Sicily”. It is reserved for all those pigmented fruit which have been cultivated and selected with regard to all the requirements established by the production rules.
IGP Certification guarantees that the blood oranges are cultivated in the most dedicated area of Sicily in varietal pureness, where the notable thermal variations present in the micro-territory of origin contribute to making the citrus fruit distinctive. In the depths of the fruit, there is an accumulation of sugars which impart a particular bitter sweet taste to the palate; it is above all the red pigmentation which make it so notably recognizable.
The anthocyanins characterize the typical colouration of the flesh, of the juice and sometimes even the rind. The intensity of the sanguine blotches depends on the area of production and the date of the harvest.
Oranfrizer Juice only selects the best fruit for producing this certified 750 ml juice. Each pack contains 1.8 kg of Blood Oranges of Sicilian IGP.
